The Maritime Prints business is for sale. At 78 yrs of age and after 26 years I’ve reluctantly concluded that I need to draw stumps. But a huge amount of love and effort has gone into the project so it needs to go to someone who can lavish a similar amount of care on it - it’s been a hugely rewarding business. Wonderful translucent light on the sea and a bright sunny sky with friendly cumulus clouds makes this a painting that appears to be of Mediterranean latitudes! Cull is his usual competent self when it comes to a painting that stands out: the light is wonderful and he does know how to show a sea that is alive, wet , ever moving and in this case, not too inhospitably cold.
