The Maritime Prints business is for sale. At 78 yrs of age and after 26 years I’ve reluctantly concluded that I need to draw stumps. But a huge amount of love and effort has gone into the project so it needs to go to someone who can lavish a similar amount of care on it - it’s been a hugely rewarding business. Specially commissioned by Maritime Prints, Mandy Shepherd’s skills are readily apparent in this very attractive watercolour showing BRITANNIA in the centre wearing the Royal Standard with vignettes around the outside: HM The Queen embarking with PP6 closed up; the engine room; the Royal Marine Band Beating Retreat; the anchor fleet being touched up before the Yacht enters harbour; and Man Ship for HM’s disembarkation at the end of Royal Duty. Technically perfect (checked to death by a previous Commander)! this is a unique painting of a much loved ship.
